What is intrinsic motivation? If you look up the definition of intrinsic motivation on Wikipedia , they describe it as follows: Carrying out actions for the mere satisfaction of doing them without the need for any external incentive. That is, it is when the stimulus you need to do any task comes from yourself , without the need for any reward other than your own satisfaction. In short, it is about carrying out a task for the simple pleasure that carrying it out will give you. For any company, it should be a priority to hire people with a high rate of intrinsic motivation, since a worker who finds performing their task stimulating will undoubtedly be a very productive employee. Furthermore, it is one of the signs that tells us that we are dealing with a talented person. Examples of intrinsic motivation As we know that it can be something abstract, so that there is no doubt, we are going to tell you some examples of what is considered intrinsic motivation: A hobby : the best example of doing something for the simple enjoyment of doing it without seeking any external reward.

Acquiring knowledge that you do not need : such as learning a language that is not required in your company. Increase your knowledge on a topic:  in this case, we do not mean knowing more than what you need to do your job, out of simple curiosity or personal fulfillment. Volunteer:  One of the best ways to feel good about yourself is to help those who need it most. Etc. As you can see, it is any action in which the only thing you are looking for is personal satisfaction.  No recognition or reward Phone Number List  is sought. Intrinsic motivation techniques Although in many cases, it depends on the worker himself to have that ability to enjoy the simple fact of carrying out his task, that does not mean that it cannot be transferred to the rest of his colleagues. It is the company's job to try to turn unmotivated workers into more efficient employees. In order to achieve this, we are going to tell you four techniques that you can do both to motivate your workers and to motivate yourself: Helps to continue with training:  if an employee has the initiative.

Continue training in his field, it would be very negative for the company not to give him enough support to facilitate the task, he is a worker who must be retained no matter what! Set easy objectives:  this, which at first may not seem necessary for a person with their own initiative, is a basic pillar to ensure that all workers gradually enter a positive dynamic, which ends in an increase in performance. Plan your tasks:  organization is the basis of good work. Furthermore, if you combine it with the previous point, the feeling of completing tasks in a simple way will raise your spirits and your desire to go for the next one. Don't forget positive reinforcement:  we know that this point may sound contradictory to everything we have told you so far, since we have insisted that they do not seek any type of recognition. Being partly right, it never hurts to recognize people's efforts. They won't do it for that reason, but it surely motivates them to continue. These are just a few examples, but you can find your own techniques. What is extrinsic motivation? This type of incentive is the radical opposite of intrinsic motivation, since the stimulus to perform the task comes from the promise of a reward.
