Spurs readied to damage NBA single-game attendance record

SAN ANTONIO-- The San Antonio Spurs are set to break the NBA's single-game participation document on Friday evening when they host the Golden State Spurs announced Wednesday they have sold 63,592 tickets for the game, which will be played at the Alamodome-- their previous home in San Antonio.  It's feasible that, with standing area tickets, the Spurs can organize about 68,000 method, they're ensured of damaging a document that meant nearly 25 years.  The most significant group at an NBA regular-season game-- determined by tickets dispersed-- is the 62,046 people who collected to see Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls satisfy the Atlanta Hawks at the Georgia Dome on March 27, 1998.  The most significant crowd in organization history was 108,713 for the 2010 All-Star Game at the home of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys.  Omitting that All-Star Game, Friday's competition will be just the 4th NBA video game with a participation exceeding 50,000.  Two of those were at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan-- the Detroit Pistons drew 52,745 for a video game versus Philly on Feb.  14, 1987, after that had a crowd of 61,983 for a game versus Boston on Jan Will Grier Jersey.  29, 1988.  That record stood till the video game at the Georgia Dome in 1998.  The Alamodome record for an NBA video game is 39,554 on June 18, 1999, when New York saw San Antonio for Game 2 of that year's NBA Spurs introduced the document in the franchise's regular underrated fashion: A press release was dispersed, stating just "63,592.
